Room on the Roof Radio’s first guest is jazz musician Benjamin Herman. Herman and the Robin Nolan Trio perform a few songs inspired by their yearlong friendship and the city of Amsterdam. In between songs Herman talks to host Winfried Baijens about his inspiration, his musical heroes and building his impressive discography. Biography Benjamin Herman
Benjamin Herman is one of the most famous and versatile musicians in the Netherlands. Herman discovered the saxophone when he was twelve years old and played in the professional club circuit aged thirteen. In the 90’s he founded the ensemble New Cool Collective which solidified his name within the music industry. He performs solo and together with other artists while touring all over the world. In the best jazz tradition, he is famously sharply dressed and was voted Best Dressed Man by Esquire in 2008.
