ABOVE THE ROOF, ABSTRACTED LANDSCAPES
From the Room on the Roof, a magical light play reveals itself at the moment the sun falls behind the city’s structures. Designer Sabine Marcelis witnessed the last sun-stripes, the slow and subtle change of colour hue, and the meeting of clouds and chimney smoke during her stay at room on the roof. Her installation Above the Roof, Abstracted Landscapes can now be seen in the window of de Bijenkorf Amsterdam. Through the interaction of colour, light and reflection the work changes from every angle, just like the landscape above the city.
BIOGRAPHY SABINE MARCELIS
Amazingly talented Sabine Marcelis runs a studio for product, installation and interior design. Forever in search of magical moments within materiality and manufacturing processes to create unexpected experiences. She collaborates with Céline, Isabel Marant en OMA architects.
